The photo contest "Trash or Vision" advertised via newsletter and banner ads consists of three phases: participation, judging, ranking. Each participant can publish up to three entries using a personal login. In order to draw a clear distinction to their own images and to attract amateurs to the contest, participants can choose to enter their photos either under the category 'trash' (amateur) or the category 'vision' (professional) The judging and the assignment to one of the two categories is guided in the next phase by the registered users.
